Final Project
For my final project I used the majority of skills I acquired whilst researching and experimenting with techniques to create a smooth, structured info-grphic commercial.
All of the experiments I did helped to create a better quality final product. I was able to learn how to manipulate shapes and layers to create free flowing transitions in between each composition.
Whilst making this project I quickly realised it would be much easier to use pre-comps in order to keep all of the adjustments and effects how they were manipulated. Also I had trouble using 3D cameras and nil objects to create the whole animation. So instead of using this I used the shaped to create transitions between the pre-comps.
I was also able to advance my skills by learning about expressions and how they work, although this can be further improved with more practice. However, I managed to include a few expressions in my final project.
Another thing I learnt was how to turn statistical information in to a visual animation, making it look more interesting to the eye. This was a vital part of this animation in order to project the information across to the viewer.
Overall this project enabled me to increase my skills in illustrator as I created all of the assets by drawing them in illustrator. Which then led me to have a better quality final piece.
Throughout the project I learnt various skills and techniques that made my After Effects profile more versatile. I tried things in after effects that I had never done before.
Taking all of this in to consideration and looking at my final piece I feel I have learnt a lot and accomplished a high quality standard of work.
Typography test
Sphere experiment
I did a test with cc Sphere and a text layer.
Almost creating a world out of the CocaCola text.
I keyframed the rotation of the sphere to make it turn so you can read the text as it turns.

Write On effect
Small experiment using the Write on Effect. To accomplish this effect I keyframed the position of the brush as well as the brush size.
Card Dance Effect
In this video I experimented with the card dance effect.
I tried to make it look like the contents of the can were being wrapped up but the can using the card dance effect.
Wiggle Effect
Here is an experiment using the wiggle expression.
wiggle(5,70)
Number Counter
In this video I wanted to make the numbers increase as each can came out. To begin with I used a linear expression with the formula:
startTime = 0 (what second the countdown should start) endTime = 4 (the time you want the countdown to stop)
beginValue = 0 (The value you want the countdown to start)
endValue = 70 (the value that you want the countdown to stop at)
t = linear(time, startTime, endTime, beginValue, endValue)
I then found another way to do this, using the slider control.
The Source text it Pickwhipped to the Slider control which is then keyframed to where you want the count to start and what value etc.
I found that the slider control gave less problems and was easier to use.
